Replace Bleach With Hydrogen Peroxide

by B.B.
(California, USA)

I grew up believing that nothing could clean and sanitize like bleach. Never mind that it burns your nose hairs out!

I recently used some hydrogen peroxide in the white laundry when we ran out of bleach. Wow! The whites came out bright and VERY fresh smelling.

I've learned that bleach and other chemicals that touch our skin get absorbed into our bodies, and I've been experimenting with green cleaning and personal products ever since.

I also use hydrogen peroxide to clean and disinfect my kitchen counter tops. Baking soda is awesome too. I use it now instead of cleanser. When I clean the bathroom with it, I get sparkly surfaces plus a pleasant, clean fresh natural smell.

I also sprinkle baking soda on the rug before I vacuum to freshen them up.

Tea tree oil is another of my favorite green cleaning products and natural antiseptic.

My home feels great and I feel better when I clean with green :)

If you want to replace laundry bleach with hydrogen peroxide, use 1/2 cup. Thank you Melissa, we certainly need to know how much hydrogen peroxide to use.

How much to use?
by: Melissa

I think using hydrogen peroxide sounds like a great idea. How much would you use for a regular load of whites?
Thank you!
Melissa
