Benefits of Organic Flowers

Why should you order organic flowers?

organic flowers, spring blossoms

I understand the question; after all you are not going to eat the flowers. True, but you are going to bring them into the home and proudly display them for probably a week or more. Or, if you are sending flowers to a loved one, they will be the one to keep them in the home.

Flowers are beautiful and I can say that eco-friendly flowers appear no more beautiful. The difference is not in their appearance. The difference lies in the land.

Organic or eco-friendly flowers are not grown on lands that have had harsh chemical pesticides, herbicides or insecticides sprayed. Pesticides cause cellular damage (herbicides and insecticides are a form of pesticides). Enough damage, in fact to kill the plant. They are not intelligent poisons. What I mean by that is that they just kill without regard to what is being killed.

Now, what this means for you is pesticides are poisons to you too. They are known to cause endocrine system problems. Hence they are referred to as endocrine disruptors and can be a source of excessive estrogen symptoms. Spring is my favorite season. We finally get to see some color again after a long winter. That is probably the reason why spring has always been my favorite season.

Enjoy the scent, but do buy your flowers organic to reduce your exposure to environmental toxins.
