Included in a healthy food list, must be foods supplying complete protein, carbohydrates and essential fatty acids.

Complete proteins are high quality and easily digestible proteins. In descending order of completeness would be...
- eggs
- milk and milk products
- liver
- muscle meats
- fish
- wheat germ

Selecting products that come from pasture fed animals increases the CLA provided by the milk and meats.

Then add high quality carbohydrates. Those that are slower to digest... lettuce tomatoe carrot
- root vegetables
- whole-grain bread and cereal
- fresh fruit and juices
- fresh leaf lettuce provides vitamins and minerals

Essential fatty acids can be obtained from...

- salad dressing (not containing hydrogenated oil)
- mayonnaise
- nuts
- sunflower seeds
- avocados
- peanut butter (not containing hydrogenated oil)

When making salad dressing, use cold-pressed olive or safflower oil. Even better would be a blend of oils containing: soy, walnut, peanut, and safflower oils.

Buy organic foods whenever you can. The production methods require that no harsh synthetic pesticides be used. Also, organic food does not permit the use of GMO food (genetically modified organism).
