Healthy Food For Kids: Kids Eating Healthy
Healthy food for kids is the best way to teach healthy eating for your children to learn. Foods that meet their carbohydrate, protein and essential fatty acid needs is healthy eating for kids.
Without a doubt, the most important thing you can do is to
eliminate processed foods
and all foods containing
hydrogenated fats or oils.
Or at least greatly reduce the amount that they get. Then you build from there. High quality protein would be an easily digestible complete protein. Of which eggs rank the highest. Then...
- milk - liver - muscle meats - wheat germ
The milk should not be heavily processed.
The animal products (milk included) should ideally be produced
naturally
or using organic methods to provide the most benefit.
Organic cheese
is made with the least amount of ingredients, making it a healthier choice.
The best probiotics for kids would be from yogurt. Buy organic plain yogurt and flavor it yourself with fresh fruit or organic jam. Avoid yogurts containing a "unique" or "exclusive" bacteria culture to eliminate those containing
new genetically engineered cultures.

Healthy food for kids must include carbohydrates. These carbohydrates should also be of higher quality, often referred to as "complex" carbohydrates. Choose foods that take longer for the carbs to be digested. Options include...
- root vegetables
- whole-grain breads and cereals
- fresh fruits and juices
- leafy green lettuce provides vitamins and minerals
Buy organic produce whenever you can. No harsh pesticides are used in their production. To find out how to start doing your own

Your child's need for essential fatty acids can be met with... - salad dressing (containing no hydrogenated oil) - mayonnaise - many nuts - sunflower seeds - avocados - peanut butter (not hydrogenated)
Replace hydrogenated oils in salads with cold-pressed oils. Safflower is good. I have used Olive oil for over 20 years now. Avoid products containing
canola oil,
found in processed foods.
Healthy food for kids is important for their growth, energy and learning. However, it is also important that unhealthy foods be restricted or not offered. An example of this is
soda pop
which can cause obesity, illness and nutritional deficiencies; definitely not healthy eating for children.
