Food Safety Standards - Codex to the rescue?

Food safety standards have always been the responsibility of individual countries. Each setting their own standards for the safety of their people.

A system that has worked. Yet, with more products moving between countries, it can be a bit clunky.

Let's take food irradiation as an example. Germany requires the labeling of irradiated food. They are emphatic on this point. Their inspectors use a gadget that can detect products that have been treated with ionizing radiation.

Super, they want to protect their citizens with food safety standards. For the international trade of foods, standards would be needed.

Here steps in Codex Alimentarius. Basically, it is a food code. It covers all things food and even nutritional supplements. Codex is adopted by WTO and the FAO (Food and Agricultural Organization), with the blessing of the UN. All World Trade Organization member countries are bound by it.

It's stated intention is to be a guideline, for consumer health. Yet, because it is adopted by the WTO it has received clout. Any international disputes would be resolved in favor of the country following Codex for their food safety standards.

"Let food be thy medicine, let medicine be thy food." - Hippocrates

Have you ever improved your health by changing your diet? Perhaps you know someone that lowered their cholesterol by taking lecithin granules. Or maybe you have increased your energy by eating more fresh fruits and vegetables? Well, here is a quote from the head of Codex...

"Nutrients are toxins."

This is so far from the observable truth that it is almost laughable.

Laughable until you take a closer look at Codex's standards. With this false datum being the foundation of the code, you see a code that limits supplements to 1/100 of any effectiveness. That is one percent of an amount that would provide any benefits. Why? Because nutrients are toxins.

You see irradiation to be used on all foods, even organics. Only foods locally grown for raw consumption would be exempt.

Genetically modified foods would have no labeling.

Despite how bad this all sounds...

I have good news!

Codex can be taken down. Your country can comply with Codex without taking on their standards entirely.

Let me put it this way "Your food and supplements can be protected." But it must be done before the deadline.

Codex becomes mandatory to all WTO member countries on 31 December 2009.

Dr. Rima Laibow, MD felt so strongly about the damage Codex will wreck that she left her successful practice to handle the situation. She created www.healthfreedomusa.org, gives lectures and briefings. Dr. Laibow secured the pro bono services of a team of lawyers and they combed through the 1000's of Codex documents. What did they find?

Codex has weak points. Weaknesses that can be used to beat Codex.

Dr. Laibow gave a talk explaining Codex, it's planetary effects, the men behind the scheme and most importantly - How to "take 'em down."
