Certified Organic Fair Trade: Personal And Global Benefits
The most common Certified Organic Fair Trade products are chocolate, coffee and cotton. Isn't buying organic already doing your part for the environment? Yes. You do benefit the eco-system.
And you benefit from the high nutritional content from foods grown in nutrient rich soil.
So, what is it? Well... Organic certification has it's
standards.
And this is just another step toward global responsibility. Fair Trade ensures that the farmers and workers receive a fair price in Third World countries. Do you think a farmer or worker should be able to make enough to live on? Enough to reinvest and get schooling for their kids? Me too. You know, I actually feel good when I buy certified fair trade organic. I may not be able to do much about third world conditions. But, this I can do. And so can you. Just imagine the change we, the consumer could evoke with nothing more than our spending dollars. Buying organic is great. But, buying certified fair trade organic is just that much better.
