All Natural Food: For The Woman Who Is Older Than She Looks
When I was growing up on the farm we ate all natural food. Of course, we didn't call it that. My Mother had a huge garden where she grew most everything we needed. At supper time, mom would just go to the garden and pick the "fixins" she wanted. What a life! Today, most of us have to shop for our food. With the rise in prepared meals and processed foods we have given up nutrition for convenience. And with that our youthful appearance; an early sign of
nutrient deficiencies.
The food you eat must provide enough nutrients to keep the body running. But, it is more than that. You must get more than what is necessary just to maintain life or the body shifts priorities. Sorry, but your wrinkle free face just isn't a priority when there are whole body systems to maintain. This is where the quality of your food comes into play... You can
choose organic,
all natural food,
certified naturally grown
or conventional foods. Here, I am going to explore natural with you. Natural foods are not regulated by government like the organics. For foods to be considered natural they must not have artificial ingredients and must be minimally processed.

This means...
- no refined sugars
- no refined flours
- no milled grains
- no hydrogenated oils
- no artificial sweeteners
- no artificial food colors
- no artificial flavorings
- and sea salt over table salt
The labeling is required to indicate why the term is used and cannot be misleading.
Natural beef is becoming more and more available.
The term is used loosely in labeling and what is required; yet producers aim to meet consumer demands of expectations. All natural food products do provide a higher quality over conventional foods. Notice the list of ingredients above that cannot be used in natural foods. Well, this is a more stringent list than for organics. You can buy organic bread, for instance; but not all natural bread. Refined flour and milled grains cannot be called all natural. Here is a sensible approach to deciding if you will buy organic or natural.
Deciding Between All Natural Food And Organic Foods Checklist
1. Organic is certified, it is regulated. 2. Look at the package label to find out exactly why it is being called natural. 3. Look for other ingredients that would indicate the whole product was not natural, but just had an all natural ingredient. 4. Know that "natural smoked flavor" or "natural peach flavor" does not describe the whole product as natural. 5. Find out for yourself, how it is that this product is natural.Look at your purchases with a somewhat critical eye. Then you will be in a position to decide with known facts. You may well decide that organic is best for you. But, at times throw in some natural. You see, when you know about something, thinking with it is second nature.
